The Scaffolding Company makes site-specific, functional objects from single sections of naturally fallen trees.​ Our process is subtractive, removing material to simplify and clarify, and discernment and relationship are at the core of the practice. Research plays a critical role - a dialectical inquiry into the implications the objects create affords complexity and novelty as the forms emerge. Our designs are together utilitarian and contemplative; they are made for human touch, thought, participation and exploration.
